- Emily Dickinson was born December 10, 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts .
- She lived with her parents, Emily Norcross Dickinson and Edward Dickinson, as well as her siblings Lavinia and Austin.
- She went to Amherst Academy and Mount Holyoke.
- She left school in 1848. The reason why is unknown.
- Most of her friends and family, including her parents, died in her life and that is one of the beliefs why all her poems were depressing.
- In 1886, Emily Dickinson died , when Lavinia went to clean her belongings and found her 800 poems. Lavinia read all of them and decided to publish them.
