There was a poor woodworker that lived with his wife and two kids at the edge of a forest
The wife convinced the woodcutter to abandon the children in the forest and tell them to get wood but Hansel told Gretel that he had a plan and gathered some pebbles, sure enough the next day the parents told the kids that they were all going to go get wood
They went to the middle of the forest and the parents left the kids by the fire they made and told them that they were going to get wood, Hansel had secretly been dropping pebbles the whole time so they just had to wait for night fall
The next time they tried to abandon them Hansel had to use breadcrumbs which were eaten so they looked around and found a house made of food they started to eat it because of how hungry they were but then the witch came out
The witch had lured them in and was telling Gretel to give Hansel the best food so that he would get fatter but Hansel kept sticking out a bone instead of his finger, the witch had become impatient and decided that she would eat the children today she told Gretel to check the oven by getting inside of it but Gretel knew it was a trick so she told the witch to show her how and when the witch got in Gretel closed the oven and burned the witch to death
The two children took the witches treasure with them and this time managed to find their house it turns out that the wife had died and the father was very sad without them
