- Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou, art sure no craven, Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering the NIghtly shore- Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!
- Nevermore...
- Rising Action
- Respite-Respite and nepenthe, from thy memories of Lenore! Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!
- Nevermore...
- The old man is reading his books in an effort to hide from the pain of losing Lenore when he hears a knock on his chamber door.
- Climax
- Nevermore...
- After opening his chamber door and finding no one on the other side, the man checks his window and a Raven flies in.
- Falling Action
- Nevermore...
- The man begins to think of Lenore and begs the raven to release him from his sadness of losing Lenore.
- Resolution
- After being told by the raven that he will never forget the loss of Lenore the man becomes angry and demands to know if he'll ever see her again.
- Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore.
- The man becomes extremely angry and demands the raven to leave and never return.
- Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken! Quit the bust above my door!
- The man realizes he will never get over Lenore as the raven remains perched above his chamber door.
