On May 23, 1957 Two police men had arrived to Dollree's map with suspicion of a bomb, they forced her to let them in with a small paper that was supposed to be a warrant, while not giving her a chance to look.

When the officers let themselves in the house, they had started to begin searching around her house without full permission, they didn't let her see the warrant they supposedly had.

In 1961 after successfully being able to retry the case in front of the supreme court, They had listened, and in the end the votes had been 5-3 by the justices in favor of Dollree Mapp. The high court said the evidence seized unlawfully, without a search warrant, could not be used in criminal prosecutions in state courts. Therefore, dismissing the case entirely.
