  • The first part of the cell cycle is Interphase.
  • Interphase is the longest stage in the eukaryote cell cycle.
  • What? A test? What's going on, I was sleeping.
  • Generally, mitosis is divided into four major phases. Telophase, Prophase, Metaphase, and Anaphase. Guys, take notes now because there will be a test on this subject in two weeks.
  • You can complete the homework while I write the notes.
  • Cool with me
  • Can you explain what occurs throughout each of these stages?
  • Let's begin with Prophase, the first stage. Chromosomes are made visible as the nuclear membrane vanishes. Animal cell centrioles begin to produce fibers and travel to the opposing sides.
  • Thats right.
  • So only animal cells have centrioles?
  • Metaphase...fibers from prophase...chromosomes...center of the cell
  • Metaphase is the following phase. In order to help the chromosomes create a straight path in the cell's core, prophase fibers connect to them at this time.
  • The next stage in the cell cycle is anaphase.
  • Chromosomes are drawn to opposing sides of the cell during anaphase by fibers from the cell's center.
  • If the cell cycle were to go wrong, it would stop cell division if the DNA was harmed, it didn't receive the required nutrients, and it hadn't been reproduced.
  • Each pair of DNA separates from the parent cell during telophase to produce two daughter cells later.
  • Even during the cell cycle, mistakes can occur. This encompasses cells without a specific purpose, an aberrant nucleus, and many more.
  • Cytokinesis is the cell cycle's last phase. Cytokinesis is the process through which the parent cell divides into two daughter cells.
