- The RAM stores all running data into the computer. It stores things at rapid speeds, yet since it has almost no capacity, the storage HDD/SDD helps store most values, with a cost of running it slowly.Then the GPU and the CPU run most of the apps and values, displaying it on the monitor. The GPU acts as a powerhouse, and the CPU acts like the main computing system. To top it off like a cake, The motherboard runs it all back and forth switching from one program to the next to keep both running at the same time.
