- My name is B.lake Dearborn, I'm 15 years old, and I currently live in Okinawa, Japan. I grew up for almost all my life in Eagle River, Alaska, where there are about 30,000 residents. I grew up playing many sports, and being involved in many different things. growing up with mostly my mom, I became interested in exploring and also doing outdoor activities.
- My life at home was pretty complicated. My parents divorced when I was 3, and I have learned to cope with two different homes and two different families. My brother and I stayed mostly at my mom's home, because of transportation to school. I was introduced to my step brother, and then a couple years later, my dog, and then my half brother. My step brother is off in college and my brother will be going soon.
- My sport life has always been around. I love playing sports and have grown up playing almost all of them. I plan to play D1 basketball and get a great education along with it. I also participate in more sports such as downhill skiing, running, and I try to go hiking and rafting occasionally.
- Besides sports, I have also participated in many activities such as The Boy Scouts of America, where I am one rank from Eagle Scout. I have been in scouts for about 8 years now. I also traveled with my mother and brother to Cusco, Peru, where I volunteered at an orphanage for 2 weeks. I grew up in the church, where I have learned to treat everyone with respect and give my life to God. I have also volunteered for 200+ hours at my church I have been going to
- My academic life has been pretty successful throughout all my years in school. I have always been in advanced classes, participated in Ignite, a separate class for elementary kids. I have received honor roll every quarter and plan to tutor for the district next year.
- I am lucky to have grown up in a city with little crime, and extremely polite people. They have shaped me into the person I am today along with my parents. My life did take a huge turn for good recently. I moved to Okinawa, Japan for my mothers work and plan to hopefully graduate in Alaska my senior year of high school.
