- PRIVATE TELEPHONE CALLS4.1 Exceeding Private calls are payable by the employee 4.2 Exempted from paying calls if less than R504.3 Accounts exceeding R50 would be distributed to officials4.4 The full amount of the account becomes payable if not returned within 30 days.4.5 Calls to cellular telephones are costly and must be avoided.4.6 Line managers should ensure that all necessary steps are taken to prevent the abuse of official telephones, or disciplinary steps must be considered against the employee if negligent.4.7 Financial management will monitor the returned FA5 forms and ensure deductions from the relevant employee’s salary, if necessary
- CELLULAR PHONE REIMBURSEMENT - Requirements and/or exclusions:These prescripts only to employees such as seconded employees, and contract workers but exclude consultants.Employees must use the free cellular phone and accessories that are included in the available packages. No circumstances be refunded for additional.Any additional fees levied will be for the employee’s own account and will under no circumstances be refunded. These are amongst others: Additional SMS bundles; and Additional data bundles.Accessories such as long-life batteries, car kits for private vehicles, walk-and-talk kits etc., may be purchased by employees themselves, but will not be refunded.
- CELLULAR PHONE DATA REIMBURSEMENT - Allocation and Additional CriteriaManaged in accordance with employee’s responsibilities, rather than positionA cell phone is a work facility and does not constitute a fringe benefitThe employee should perform one or more strategic functionsNeed for immediate contact with political office bearers and managementHas to perform continuous tasks of a critical/urgent natureCannot be reached on a regular basis normallyTime spent outsideImprovement of the operational efficiencyClaiming for contracts that are in their nameSMS will automatically qualifyIt is therefore expected of cellular phone users to be contactable at all timesA data card is a type of device that allows a laptop/personal computer to receive internet access. This device is easily moveable and allows the official internet access at any time
- CELLULAR PHONE - Acquisition Procedure key pointsThe relevant senior manager must manage and approve the allocation of cell phones. A copy of the approval (FA6) forms must be submitted to financial management for record purposes and the processing of the claimsAll-inclusive package is introduced.
