- Hi Xiuying! Yeah, it’s been forever and I’m doing great! Hmm I spent my long holidays doing nothing but crocheting and toying with my cell phones.
- Hi there! It's been a while! How are you doing? What did you do over the long holidays?
- Wait, LGBT? What’s that?
- LGBT is an initialism that stands for lesbian,gay,bisexual and transgender. The initialism as well as several of its common variants, has been in use since the 1990’s as an umbrella term for sexuality and gender identity.
- However, I frequently come across LGBT-related content as I scroll through social media and it’s concern me.
- Ouhh lesbian and gay! I know that! It’s like individuals who are romantically, emotionally, and sexually attracted to the same sex/gender right? I’m not sure about the other two.
- Yeah, you are right! As for bisexuality, it is romantic attraction, sexual attraction, or sexual behavior toward both males and females or to more than one gender.
- Meanwhile, transgender people have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from the sex that they were assigned at birth.
- I agree, the government should not take this issue lightly, instead accept the facts that this lifestyle is happening in Malaysia. By spreading awareness about LGBT citizens will be more alert and acknowledge about LGBT.
- Unfortunately, in Malaysia, awareness of the disadvantages of LGBT is insufficient.
- People that are involve with LGBT would also not be aware of their wrong doing because no one give them an explanation.
- I personally think that the main reason that causes this issue came from home. Most of the time when the parents are too busy with their work, they would lose the quality time with their children. As a result, they wouldn’t get enough love and attention. So instead, they would go out with their friends. This obviously will lead to another factor which is peer influence.
- Hmm but, what are the factors contribute to the occurrence of LGBT?
- Yes, I concur
- Another factor is it depends on the personality of an individual. Although some parents have provided religious education since childhood, if they do not practice a religious life, they will probably tend towards LGBT issues.
