I know! We could conduct a retrospective cohort study. This would require us to apply a post-positivist worldview and it would give us a cause -and- effect relationship(1).

I read that our research must be conducted according to ethical principles derived from international guidelines including the declaration of helinsky, ICHGP, and privacy guidelines(POPI-A, HIPP-A,)(2).
We should request patient files from the hospital. This would allow us to gather the data we need efficiently.
Thats a good idea but ,we must protect privacy, respect autonomy, ensure fairness and maintain transparency.
