- The military of East and Government of West Pakistan conspired not to hand over power to Mujib. This caused him to give a fiery speech urging his people to build a fort of resistance and telling them to fight. He ended the Speech saying 'our struggle is for our freedom and our struggle if our independence, lighting a fire among the Bengali people

- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ( considered the father of Bangladesh) rose as a spokesperson among the Bengali people challenging the disparity between the two regions and demanded self-autonomy for East Pakistan.
- Inspired by Mujibs heroism and bravery, the Bengali Nation fought for their independence. The west still being the ruling power had Mujib arrested and his party but as he was being taken away in custody he urged his people to fight for their freedom. This led to the ruling elite to suppress the Bengali opposition leading the one of the biggest war crimes and genocides in history. March 26, 1071 the Bengali nation gathered to fight for their independence. This resulted in millions being killed majority being woman who were kidnapped and raped giving birth to a thousand of war babies/
