- Time to hunt to support my family!
- The foxes are here!
- LIZARDS!😋
- Woo! Thank goodness I got away. But how come my species was only targeted and the foxes didn't go for the darker-colored lizzards?
- In a forest somewhere off the coast of Virginia, lay two different species of lizard, both green. Both grew to the same size. They both sit on the same level of the food chain. The darker allele would be better at blending into darker surfaces such as tree branches, bushes, tall grasses, etc. in order to hide from predators. The lighter allele would not be able to camouflage as well do to the surrounding environment, making it harder for them to survive. Their main predator, the fox, would hunt for them early in the morning when it is brightest.
- We used to be a lighter color, like you. Our families were wiped out, all because of a problem with out genes. Our ancestors decided to mate with darker colored lizards to create a more suitable lifestyle when it comes to attacks.
- The foxes come in for their hunt. All of the lizards run and hide from death, but some of them aren't physically suited enough to survive from their predators.
- He's dead!
- The foxes hunted out the last of their species!
- The hunt has begun and all of the lizards have attempted to hide themselves from the foxes, but some can't due to their physical attributes. The dark-green lizards are surviving due to their ability to blend in to the darker surfaces. On another hand, the light-green lizards aren't capable of blending in with their environment due to their color.
- Now we are the only species of lizard left in this forest
- After the hunt is over, the last living member of the light-green lizard species decides to go to the dark-green lizard species and ask for help. They end up telling him that the reason why they are able to camouflage is because their color matches the color of their ecosystem, preventing them from being eaten.
- Somehow I survived that, but my friends didn't . Do y'all have any tips on how I can survive or prevent another attack?
- The foxes have hunted again and have finally killed out the whole population of light-colored frogs.
- The light green species has completely died out and went extinct. Since the foxes were unable to find any more food, they decided to migrate to find another form of food. The dark-green population went on to produce more offspring.
- At least the foxes are gone!
