- Scott runs through the front door.His mother, JUDY (47), notices him as she watches her afternoon television.JUDY: How was school?Scott runs straight past her to go to his room.
- 10. INT. MADDY’S ROOM - DAY
- He sits down at his desk and gets the webcam ready. He pullsout an acoustic guitar that looks like it has never been touched before.SCOTT: Here goes nothing.He clicks the mouse to start recording.SCOTT: This one is for you, Maddy.He begins to attempt to play the guitar and sing. It isobvious that he cannot do either.SCOTT: Maddy, I wish I had your touch. Don’t you know, I miss you very much?Scott uploads the video online and sends the link to Maddy via a private message. SCOTT: And uploaded, this is it.
- 11. INT. SCHOOL CORRIDOR - DAY
- His mother, concerned he didn’t respond before, enters hisroom.JUDY: Did you get bullied today again?SCOTT: Mum! What are you doing in here!? Get out!JUDY: I just came to see if you were alright before you go to work.SCOTT: Mum please!JUDY: Alright, just trying to be a goodmother.Scott leaves to go to work.
- 12. EXT. COURTYARD - DAY
- Maddy is sitting in her room on her computer. She is on Skype with JESSICA (17).MADDY: Today was just the worst! JESSICA: I know right! MADDY: Hang on, I got this email from some Scott.Maddy clicks on the mouse. The start of Scott’s video can beheard. Maddy is shocked it is about her.SCOTT: Maddy, I wish I had your touch. Don’t you know, I miss you very much?Maddy bursts out in laughter and resumes talking to Jessica.MADDY: Oh my God, Jessica! You have to seethis video. I’ll send it over right now.
- Scott walks down the hallway at school to a chorus of laughter.He has no idea what they are laughing at so keeps walking.Jimmy approaches Scott.SCOTT: What are they laughing at?JIMMY: Your video went viral. The whole school has seen it.SCOTT: What!? He lowers his head attempting to avoid everyone as it seems that the corridor will never end.Great singing loser.SAMANTHA: That was like, so pathetic, ugh!KEVIN: Rock on dude!MR BROOKS: Great performance, Scott!Scott looks up amazed that even his teacher has seen the video.JIMMY: Don’t worry about it.SCOTT: Everyone’s laughing at me.JIMMY: That’s what happens when you dedicate a song to the most popular girl in the school.Scott looks at Jimmy with no meaning and walks off.JIMMY: What? Too soon?
- Scott finds a spot to sit on his own.He buries his head in his hands.Maddy is with Samantha and Jessica.Samantha points outScott and the girls approach.SAMANTHA: Well look who it is.JESSICA: If it isn’t Romeo himself. A big crowd comes over to see what will happen.MADDY: You actually thought that someone like you could get someone as flawless as me!? In your wildest dreams. I only go out with cool people, not pathetic little nerds like you! The three girls walk off as everyone is laughing.
