Juliet's parents tell Juliet that she is to be married Thursday to Paris. Juliet disobeys her parents and refuses.

"More light and light, more dark and dark our woes."These are Romeo and Juliet's last moments together before Romeo departs. This reinforces Juliet's love to Romeo, and in turn, factors in Juliet's disobedience towards her parents in the next scene.
After realizing that the Nurse is siding with her parents, Juliet tricks her. She pretends that she is going to make confession and heads to Friar Lawrence.
"I will not marry yet; and, yet, when I do, I swear, it shall be Romeo, whom you know I hate, Rather than Paris,"Juliet is notified of the marriage and reveals her true thoughts of the marriage. She disobeys her parents directly for the first time in the play by refusing to marry Paris.
