- Susan thought it was just another routine babysitting job, but the night would prove anything but ordinary.
- “Don’t worry, Mrs. Tucker. The kids will be fine.”
- “Thank you, Susan. Be sure to lock the doors, and call if you need anything.”

- “No way, Jimmy. I don’t like scary stuff.”
- Alright, you two. Bedtime is at 8. Any special requests before then?”
- “Tell us a scary story!”
- The siblings had very different ideas about how to spend the evening.

- Her relief was short-lived as the knocking returned, more insistent this time.

- She hesitated, her hand trembling on the doorknob.
