Storyboard Text

  • Chapter 14- Fire and Water
  • Arrow! Black Arrow! I have saved you for the last.
  • Chapter 15- The Gathering of the Clouds
  • There is that old thrush again!
  • Chapter 16-A Thief in the Night
  • Off you go!
  • Smaug arrives at Lake Town and sets their houses on fire. Soon, an old thrush gives information about Smaug's weak spot to one of the Lake Town men named Bard. Bard takes his advice and gets ready to defeat Smaug, which he is successful at. This scene is important to the story because it shows the events leading up to Smaug's defeat.
  • Chapter 17- The Clouds Burst
  • A thrush(the same from Lake-Town) used an old bird to communicate with the company. He told them the news about Smaug's defeat. and the army that was coming. This scene is important because it shows how the company is able to know about the army(men and elves) and Smaug's death.
  • Chapter 18- The Return Journey
  • Come! you are called for.
  •  Bilbo offered to take over Bombur's job as a watch-man, he did this so he could escape to go see Bard and the elven-king. This scene is important because it shows the events that lead to Bilbo giving the Arkenstone to Bard and the Elven King.
  • Chapter 19- The Last Stage
  • The elves, lake-town men, and the dwarves teamed up as an army against the goblins and the wargs. This part in the story is important because it shows who the battle was against.
  • To me! To me! Elves and Men! O my kinsfolk!
  • Gandalf and Bilbo are outside where Thorin laid. Inside the tent they talk about their friendship and the treasure. This part of the story is important as it shows where Bilbo and Thorin make up and say farewell to each-other.
  • As Bilbo and Gandalf came into town people were surprised as they had presumed Bilbo was dead, because of their prediction of what had happened to Bilbo they decided to auction of his belongings. This scene is important to the story as it shows that events that Bilbo and Gandalf came to once they had safely made it home.
