I believe this is one of the most important things to happen in this play. had it not happened, brutus wouldn't have started thinking of killing caesar for the good of rome. It would have also stopped Cassius's plan due to the impact brutus has on the people. Then none of this would have happened, brutus might have watched and given caesar a chance. he was going the right direction by asking ¨into what dangers would you lead me cassius, that you would have me seek into myself for that which is not in me?¨
Act IV (Scene I)
I chose this scene to highlight a fact we all know, caesar is cocky and doesn't believe in bad fortune for himself (or at least acts like it here). and i ´ ll say ¨ warriors may die with honour, but cowards can live to see another day ¨ in response to this quote ¨ cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste death but once ¨. so maybe that was a day he should have been cowardly, a day he should have begun watching things closer. and in doing so, he should have been able to find the coup cassius and brutus were planning.
Act V
this is the most important scene in the play, it affects the entire rest of the story. caesar could have just stopped to talk with the soothsayer on the way. though i will admit, the line ¨ et tu, brute? Then fall, Caesar!¨ is a line i enjoy reading. i enjoy it because i enjoy betrayal, hearing the pain in their voice (just for books i really like, don't worry, not irl).
Theme
Brutus and cassius could have fallen apart in this scene, possibly. if they had, then that would have affected the ending badly, obviously its not gonna be good. or one may have killed the other, i mean, its possible when ¨urge me no more, i shall forget myself; have mind upon your health, tempt me no farther¨ is said, its like saying ¨shut up, or i swear ill kill you¨. and that, is something that can break forged bonds. murder was almost reached for the death of brutus´s wife.
It´s obvious that the death of cassius is important to me, for one reason. he dies, thinking he lost and is doing the right thing. although i don't really like him...this changes nothing, i still don't like him one bit, so here, I have his final words in a quote. ¨Caesar, thou art revenged. Even with the sword that kill´d thee.¨
i learned from this story, only one thing. it is a VERY important thing. don't stab your friends. cause then you ´ ll be in trouble with a LOT of people, cause some people are good at speaking against you, for example. ¨friends, romans, countrymen......and i must pause till it come back to me¨. it ´ s a speech that almost immediately changed their minds, or set them on the path to doing so.
