The Founding Story Of Buddhism

Siddhartha Gautama was born into a life in a royal palace, an astrologer foretold that he would give up his throne and his parents did not want him to so they kept him sheltered in the palace all his life. One day when he was King, he grew curious and asked his charioteer to take him on a tour of the city.
On his tour of the city he encountered four things he had not seen in his sheltered, palace life, the first was an old man, the second a sick man, the third a dead corpse and the fourth a sage who had found peace in his life. Siddhartha discovered that there was suffering in the world and he decided to try and find a way to be at peace like the sage.
