Hannah Ardnet was stripped of her German Citizenship in 1937 due to her being a "Jewish Alien"
What was the reason?!
In 1940 she was detained by the French as an alien. She was sent to a concentration camp in France where she and thousands of other Jews were seen as “enemy aliens”. Luckily, she escaped and made her way to the United States in 1941 via Portugal. She settled in New York, which remained her home for the rest of her life.

Hannah Ardnet became a writer and worked for the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction. She wrote her first major piece "The Origins of Totalitarianism" in 1951.

 Hannah wrote "The Human Condition" in 1958, as well as "Men in Dark Times" in 1968. She also wrote "Thinking Without a Banister" in 1970. Those being her most popular books that she wrote.

Hannah Ardnet suddenly passed away at the age of 69 on December 4, 1975 due to an unexpected heart attack. She left behind an unfinished book, "The Life of The Mind".
