- This agency was established in 1933 due to the Stock Crash. Currently, it insures $250,000 per customer per bank, thus first-time depositors should look for its seal on doors, windows, and pamphlets.

- Checks automatically processed and deducted from a customer's account in lew of a service charge.
- On checks cents can written as a fraction rather than decimal. Write the amount as close to the dollar sign as possible, so it can't be changed.
- Get out!
- Except the cents, the amount should be written in words, starting at the beginning of the amount line, so there's no extra space. Then draw a wavy line following the written amount.
- The ''For'' Line is to note the service or goods of the transaction. This line's optional, however it helps when budgetiing expenses.
