- Stag-Moose: Cervalces scotti 9 0
- Moose diverged from deer 10 million years ago in Siberia, then migrated west across Europe. The most common fossils of the moose's ancestors are from the Irish Elk.
- Irish Elk antlers could weigh 100 Ibs and be measured to 10 feet in length. Arrow wounds in other bones imply they were hunted to extinction.
- Inhabiting North Amercia, the stag-moose looked like a cross between a moose and an elk, yet was in between sizes of both species. Like modern moose, it lived in mostly swampy habitats.
