- Binary is how a computer encodes text. For example, when a key on Carter's computer is pressed so that he can calculate the money.

- Computers use binary - the digits 0 and 1 - to store data, and it is represented by a 0 or a 1. So when I said 11001, that was the letter 'y', and 00101 that was 'e' and 10011 was 's'.
