- Mom and Dad had told me the story already many times before. Brother was killed by a North Korean soldier, so we had to flee.
- They packed up the little things they had and decided to run at night. Leaving Korea was a punishable offense of torture or death.
- Only Mom and Sister were able to get away, while Dad was left behind to face the punishment. They were surprised by their escape into South Korea, and after that, they established a small quaint life in rural Taegu, where we are now.
- That was always what Mom told me when I wanted a story before bed.
- Ch 2.
- I had a great life as a kid, and I was so happy to not live in North Korea. One day, my sister got really sick. She was a lot older than me and I was forced to go to church to pray with my family for her.
- Dear God, Please help Sis out, she needs all of your help right now.
- Dear God, Please heal me and allow me to spread my word through you.
- Dear God, Please help heal my daughter's sickness she is one of the only people I have left.
- Ironically it was at the church where I had met my future husband. But at the time I only knew him as a friend in Sunday School.
- Ch 3.
- Church was a big part of my life, especially for Mom. I could see why, but I didnt know God would have such a large effect on Sis.

- My Sister was no doubt, healed by God. As I watched her grow, I got to see her grow through the church. Mom always said to be like Sister, and so I took note of what she had done.
- While she became a missionary and got to go out to Africa, I got to stay home and work more. It didn't seem fair how she got all the money, but I know we were lucky to even have gotten so far.
- Mom always tried to give us the best, kind of like a father. She had set goals and if they were achieved, she showed her love through that. Obviously entailing that was the natural competition between my Sister and I.

- Ch 4.
- Sister had gotten sick again, but this time it was worse. Mom did not want me in the same room because she wanted time with her so I went to the church to pray. That's where I saw a church friend who I called Sungchan.
- Hey Sungchan!
- I always felt a little closer to Sunchan than the rest of the kids at Sunday School, and we always bonded over our community service!
- One day, while we were at the drugstore he offered to pay for a part of my sister's medication and asked me out!
- I asked my mom for permission to go to the movie with Sungchan and surprisingly she said yes!
- Why is it so cold?
- She's so cute
- We ended the night by walking back home together, and my mom got to meet him. Both of us waved by and that was the start of our relationship.
- Ch 5.
- We got married! He proposed to me and we moved to California so he could become a pastor.
- We weren't the richest, but we were happy. We moved into a small apartment and gave birth to your Mom and Uncle Sam!
