- The Servant boy grieves his poor fortune
- His prominent family was destroyed and scattered by the rival family
- Now he works in the house of the family that destroyed his, only finding refuge in writing
- One of the family members is a young, bratty, yet charismatic Prince
- He admires Cinderella and writes about her but never builds the courage to talk to her
- His remaining family has built great fortune in a foreign land
- He finally builds up the courage to talk to Cinderella but she shows up to the Prince's ball in a brand new dress and shoes. She runs out at midnight before he can give her the poems he wrote for her
- He goes to Cinderellas house the next day but the Prince has already proposed, and she accepted
- The servant ran away and found his family, becoming rich
- He returned years later old and alone to find Cinderella happily married to the Prince
