- Freud created the concept of id, superego, and ego. The superego is the realist in your decision making to have you do the best thing possible. The id is the opposite, like the devil, wants to satisfy basic drives no matter the cost. The ego is a balance between the two that makes the best decision considering both. Freud believed this was a very important part of decisions and personality.

- Adler studied how birth order impacted how children would act. As a younger child, you often feel inferior to older children and feel that you need to do better than them in order to get any sort of feeling of success and acceptance.

- Carl Rodgers believed that all people are good people unless their environment inhibits their growth. If placed in a bad environment, it is possible to develop bad behaviors and emotions. He said that a person who want to grow need to develop genuineness, acceptance, and empathy.
