- We are here to explain and take you through through the structure of the atom and how it was derived.

- My name is John Dalton and I am a Chemist and I say that all matter is made of tiny indivisible particles called atoms, which are solid, Massy, hard and impenetrable, movable particles. I have presented my structure of the Atom in the next slide.
- Dalton’s atomism is connected with many of the most important developments in the history of science. First, it entails the basic conceptions of the modern theory of substance. Dalton introduced the atom concept into chemistry and gave it an empirical foundation, thereby furnishing atheoretical determination of the fundamental object of chemistry.

- My name is Joseph John Thomson, I am a British Physicist who found the first Sub-atomic particle, the Electron. My experiments with cathode ray tubes shows that all atoms contain tiny negatively charged subatomic particles or electrons. My plum pudding model of the atom had negatively-charged electrons embedded within a positively-charged "soup."

- Electrons
- An electron is a negatively charged subatomic particle. It can be either free (not attached to any atom) or bound to the nucleus of an atom. Electron is the lightest stable subatomic particle. A proton is a subatomic particle found in the nucleus of every atom. The particle has a positive electrical charge, equal and opposite to that of the electron.
