- In this scene, Lyddie was working in the factory in the summer, she experienced conflict with the warm. The factory is very warm and there is unbearable heat in the weaving room. The conflict being demonstrated is person VS nature because weather is a type of natural problem that we have no control over. Lyddie is having conflict with warm weather which shows that this is person VS nature.
- In this scene, Lyddie visited back home to check on the cabin and when she arrived Mistress's face was red with rage and heat. The conflict demonstrated is person VS person because Lyddie is having a hard time with a person Mistress Cutler.
- Betsy and Amelia are having a fight on too much work and overload. Betsy is planning to join the workers right movement but Amelia doesn't want her to because then she would not be respected in the society. The conflict being demonstrated is person VS society because on one is supporting Betsy and if she joins the work's movement then she would be not respected in society
