- Dear Santa I hope you aren't to tired from making and delivering toys. I guess you must have a lot of stops to make yet, so I've left you some cookies and hot chocolate to carry you through. It's the best way to say thank you. Thank you SO MUCH, Santa, and merry Christmas!Love,Mia
- So on Christmas Eve day, Mom helped Mia make her very favorite chocolate chip cookies. She made two dozen so that there were plenty to enjoy with Daddy, Mom and Mason and a nice big helping for Santa.
- Before bed, Mia left the cookies and a mug of hot chocolate on a table near the Christmas tree. And she also left a note for Santa.
- Dear Mia,Thank you so much for your delicious cookies and hot chocolate and your thoughtful note. I was delighted to find them here! No, I'm not too tired; I never tire of making and delivering toys for Christmas! It's what make me so jolly. Still, it's nice to be remembered. - Mia wanted to spy on Santa while he enjoyed his snack, but she knew Santa expected children to be sleeping. So she lay her head down on her pillow and slept.
- As soon as she awoke on Christmas, Mia hurried downstairs. She did not go to the presents under the tree but instead went to the cookie plate she had left for Santa. To her delight, all the cookies were gone. But the note was still there-or was it? As Mia looked closer, she saw a different note-not in her own handwriting.
- She picked it up and read it.
- Mia was elated. Knowing that the person who worked so hard to deliver present to everyone was also receiving one made her Christmas the best it had ever been. Mia agreed with Santa. Joy is truly in the giving, not receiving.
