- It is Ernie's first day of school and he realizes he is going to be late. He starts to run and crosses the street not realizing that the school bus is coming. He gets hit by the school bus and breaks both of his legs.

- Once Ernie got out of the hospital, he had to spend more than two more months at home recovering. He got really behind in school, even though he tried to keep up.

- The day that Ernie went back to school from his injury, It took It a long time to get to school. Ernie's wheelchair could not fit in his car, and It took him a long time to get in and out of his car.
- Ernie visits his grade school
- When Ernie went into the school, the first thing he saw was a big state championship wrestling trophy. It was the biggest and most shiny in the case.
- Ernie then saw a big eighth grader named Kevin. Kevin was a big and strong wrestler. When Ernie told Kevin that his trophy was nice, Kevin responded by saying that Ernie would never get one because he was disabled.
- Four years after graduating from the school, Ernie is going back to the school for a special occasion. Ernie recovered from his injury and started to run. He became really good and became the state champion. Then, he decided to try out for the Nike National Championship and won there too. They are having an assembly for Ernie, where he will speak. A replica of Ernie's Nike trophy will replace the wrestling trophy at the school.
