In the large kingdom of Oslo, in Norway, lived a servant girl named, Margaret Browne. Her last name was Browne because of her darker hair and darker skin, that is what her last name meant. In this kingdom, people were separated into social classes based on their hair and skin. For example, the family that Margaret worked for all had light hair and skin. This family's name was Ead because because they had "abundant riches", this is what their last name meant. In the village that Margaret lived in, everyone had darker hair and skin. In the village, she lived with her sister, Isabella Browne, and her father, William Browne. Their mother tragically passed away when the girls were children. Isabella did not believe in working for people to earn money, so she sold her own merchandise.
