Even though all of these attacks happened Tamaki Makaurua was a great place for resources for early Maori settlers. With all the place they could get there food like the oceans full of shark and fish for them to eat. As well as having a lot of space to grow their kumara and yams. They also had fertile soil on the Howick peninsula for all of these vegetables to grow
