After a long hard journey, the family had made it to America. They were first greeted by their interpreters. These interpreters stayed with them as they walked through Ellis Island. As the passengers went through, there were doctors standing throughout if these doctors noticed anything abnormal they would report it, in case it was a real medical condition.

If a family passes all of the medical examinations, they will go to their final test. This test was to see if the immigrants knew the 31 items of information contained in the manifests. The inspector only had about two minutes with each immigrant, if the immigrant passed they would get to go on to their next destination of where they would live in the US.
The last stop the immigrants had to make was the money exchange. This is where they could trade their foreign coin and paper dollars for American dollars.
After the immigrant obtained their money. They set off on their new journey in the US. Most immigrants set out to find a job and somewhere to stay.
This is the end of the journey to and through Ellis Island.
