- Plant cells are eukaryotic cells that are found in all plants. Plant cells have many organelles that carry out different functions.

You must deeply research at least thirteen organelles and then discuss your research with your group. This will all help to prepare you for the test tomorrow. - Plant cells are eukaryotic cells that are found in all plants. Plant cells have many organelles that carry out different functions.
- Here is what I was thinking: We all decide on which organelles we want to research and then we share our information. Once we are done, we write our information in a word document to study.
- The nucleus is one of the essential organelles in a cell because it regulates and controls all activities inside the cell. The Nucleus carries the genetic material called DNA that is responsible for providing instructions and directing all cell activities.

- The nucleolus is a small structure located inside the nucleus. Primarily, it plays an important role in producing ribosomes. Without the nucleolus, there would be no protein synthesis. Lastly, the nucleolus is rich in RNA.
- The Cytoplasm is the jelly-like substance that fills the cell within the cell membrane. All of the cell's organelles are held inside the cytoplasm. In addition, there are many chemicals, nucleic acids, and other elements, essential to the cell, which can be found there. The Cytoplasm also helps maintain the cell shape.

- The cell membrane functions as a selectively permeable barrier that completely surrounds the cell. It is composed of a double layer of lipids and proteins. The cell membrane helps regulate what enters or exits the cell.

- 5. The mitochondria are structures that supply energy for the cell, which is why it is commonly referred to as “the powerhouse of the cell.” It supplies energy by producing ATP through a process called cellular respiration. The more energy a cell needs, the more mitochondria they have.
- 6. Golgi Apparatus are structures that function to pack proteins to prepare them for exportation outside of the cell, meaning it works closely with the Rough ER. Lastly, in plant cells they may also create complex sugars.

- I learned that lysosomes are structures that help to digest food and break down waste in a cell. They many also be used to break down the cell when it dies.

- I learned that the smooth ER is a structure that is composed of membranes, responsible for aiding in metabolic processes including synthesizing steroids, lipids, and phospholipids.
