  • George is hurting from thinking too hard. Hazel just watched the screen go black and her son on the stage dead. Hazels starts to feel sad but doesn't know why.
  • "I can't remember why I was sad. Gee- I could tell that one was a doozy."

  • In his story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut makes the point that if everyone wasn't acknowledged for their gifts, then there would never be anything special. He clearly shows that our gifts are unique to us, and if we treat those gifts as threats and stuff to be ashamed of, then the world will never change, it will stay the same along with the people. The author makes the image as equality in the sense of intelligence and beauty is something that can never happen. We were all given things unique to us, which makes us part of whom we are. Without those we are simply robots of society.
