Macbeth has killed King Duncan I  know it and will not go to support a man like that
In act 1, as Macbeth returns from battle he encounters the weird sisters, they give Macbeth prophecies about his future, one being he shall be the Thane of Cawdor. However, the Thane is still alive which make Macbeth ask "Why do you dress me in borrow'd robes?" (1.3.107-8) which means why are you calling me Thane of Cawdor when I am not. 
After Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have decided to kill Duncan, the king of Scotland, Macbeth begins to get doubts about killing and Lady Macbeth asks him "Was the hope drunk/ Wherein you dressed yourself?" (1.7.36-7). 
At the end of Act 2 when Macbeth is to be named King, Macduff and Ross meet up and converse recent events about the King's death, Ross asks Macduff if he is going to Scone to see Macbeth be named king. Macduff says he is not and says to Ross "Adieu, Lest our old robes sit easier then our new" (2.4.37-8).
