  • In 1754, the French and Indian war began because there was a dispute between British and America over land. This is one of the things that caused the American Revolution.
  • The proclamation of 1763 stopped people from traveling west from the Appalachian Mountains. The British did this so they could control the westward expansion.
  • The Stamp Act of 1765 was an actthat British enforced that taxed paper goods. Loyalists were in favor of this new tax because they were loyal to the British.
  • On the other hand, patriots didn't approve of the Stamp Act. They were also known as the Liberty Boys.
  • No more taxes!
  • The Declaration of Independence was signed to Declare Independence from Britain. It was signed on July 4, 1776. Lyman Hall was one of the 56 signers.
  • The battle of Kettle Creek was on February 14, 1779. It was the first major victory for the patriots during the Revolutionary War. A few months after this battle, there was another battle called the Siege of Savannah, in which the British won.
