Hello! I'm an Ancient Polynesian living in Polynesia and i'm going to teach you about the all about the Moon and its phases.
Where does my light come from??
In fact, the Moon gets its light and energy from the Sun. The Moon reflects the Sun's light.
One common question about the Moon is where does the Moon get its light?
Moon Phases in Order.
All of the Moon phases in order is: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Waning Crescent. Then, the cycle repeats.
These are all the phases of the Moon during a lunar cycle.
Gibbous. Which is the 6th Moon phase.
It is known that the Moon varies in its illumination throughout a lunar cycle.
That's why we see different parts of the Moon lit up, and other parts dark. That's also what determines a lunar phase.
Well that's because the Sun lights up different sides of the Moon as it orbits around the Earth.
