- AugustusCaesar was born on the 23rd of September in the year 63 BC, in the beautiful city of Nola. However, he was born by the name of Gaius Octavius, which is where he gets his nickname the ‘Octavian from’. He was only given the name of August Caesar after he was adopted by one of the greatest Roman rulers ever, Julius Caesar.

- In 44 BC, Gaius Octavius was adopted by the then ruler of Rome, Julius Caesar. He did this because he saw great potential is him to one day become a great leader who would extend Caesar's legacy. When he adopted him he change his name from Gaius Octavius to August Caesar, which is the name that to this day is associated with him.
- Augustus then broke all ties with Mark and he even declared war on the couple which led the two to commit suicide.
- Hey Gaius Octavius, I see that you have great potential to become a mighty ruler. I will therefore adopt you so that I can put you into a power position once I am done with ruling Rome.

- After Julius Caesar was assassinated,Augustus became the leader of Rome. However, he did this together with Mark Antony,as they had formed an alliance together with Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, they defeated their political opponents and they increased their powers. Mark Antony was from Greece which is why he ruled the eastern provinces of Rome.

- Eventually, Augustus defeated the couple theirfleet, which meant that in 31 BC, Augustus was officially the first emperor ofRome.
