- The best example I can give of cross contamination is touching raw meats thenhandling vegetables or other foods without washing hands between tasks.
- There's a trend I am noticing. Raw meats and poultry are the foods that infect other foods with their bacteria. Am I correct?
- Yes honey, you're correct. When dealing with raw meat, bacteria transfers from your hands or objectsto the food and causes food-borneillnesses.
- So I should wash all my kitchen utensils and my hands in between dealing with different foods?
- Yes of course. Washing hands frequently betweencooking tasks and washing utensils are the best ways to ensure safety from cross-contamination.
