Once upon a modern time, there lived a young girl named Cinderella, but most just called her Ella. After her father passed away, Ella was left living with her stepmother and stepsisters. They all shared a house, but Ella often felt like the black sheep, forgotten and overlooked. When she was younger, her dad used to sing to her every night. His voice was warm and gentle, and he told her, “One day, you'll sing for the whole world.” Since then, Ella dreamed of becoming a singer, just like her dad inspired her to be.

But just as she walked through the door, her stepmother stopped her.
Ella and her stepsisters were close in age, so they all went to the same school. One morning, a voice came over the loudspeaker:
"Attention students! The annual school talent show is tonight!"
“You’re not going anywhere until this house is spotless,”
Ella’s eyes lit up. "This is my chance", she thought. She rushed home, eager to practice and get ready.
she said as Ella’s heart sank to the floor.

As Ella began cleaning, her stepsisters made iteven harder. They tossed clothes on the floor,spilled juice on the counter, and laughed as theydid everything, she worked so hard to clean. Theclock ticked, and the talent show was gettingcloser. Ella was still scrubbing floors and foldinglaundry.
Her stepsisters finished getting dressed and walked out the door, smiling and waving.
“Good luck cleaning, Cinderella,” they giggled.
