- Nurse
- “You have a good heart, and believe me, I’ll tell her that. Lord, Lord, she’ll be a happy woman.”
- In these quotes, Benvolio and Mercutio are expressing what they have witnessed ad got from a letter mailed to Romeo. The letter expressed that Tybalt would like to challenge Romeo to a duel.
- Romeo
- “Tell her to devise a pan to get out of her house and come to confession at the abbey this afternoon. At Friar Lawrence’s cell she can make confession and be married. (giving her coins) Here is a reward for your efforts.”
- In this quote, Mercutio expresses how and why he feels bad for Romeo, and he does so by expressing all of Romeo’s problems.
- Nurse
- “No really, I won’t take a penny.” “(taking the money) This afternoon, sir? She’ll be there.”
- In this quote, The Nurse is conveying her opinion of Romeo in this quote, and she will return her good wishes by telling his beloved Juliet.
- In this quote, Romeo tells the Nurse that he wants to meet Juliet to marry her, He gives her specific details on what should be done if she was up to it, and tries to bribe or persuaded her with a reward if she helps.
- In this quotation, the Nurse initially refuses his bribe, but then reconsiders her decision and accepts the money.
