They put an X on Day's family's door which means that his family has the plague and they have to get tested. This isn't good because they are poor and can't get the vaccine. So day is gonna try and steal it.
Chapter 31
Day was trying to take plague cures from the republic, and meties attempted to stop him, and Day was protecting himself and throwing a knife at him. He was June's brother. Day "killed him".
chapter 37
When Day saved June from a skized fight she almost died and he took her with him and tess to go to sleep in the ally way. When they got there they were talking and they kind of fell in love with each other. They created a good bond which helps them later in the story.
The republic goes to days house and is about to take his family away because of the plauge. He tries and saves them but they catch Day and they shot his mother while they were at it. They then took him to prison.
June reads metiases journals and realizes that the republic has been bad all along. She realizes that Day did not kill her brother and it was Thomas. So she makes a plan to save Day and his brothers.
June saves Day by joining the colines(the enemy of the republic). Then John Days' brother saves them by distracting the guards. Then the colines take them to the edge of California and then they're saved.
