The Hearth and the Salamander: Part 1
The year is 2049, and books have been banned! Anyone who has a book in their home will have them burned and will be arrested by the firemen. The antagonist. Guy Montag is one of the fighters. Rushing to the alarms that are called, and burning the books to ashes. This book Fahrenheit 451 shows what could happen, when authors conform to the mindset of a blinded society, and accept rules they don't agree with.

As he is walking home from work, he encounters a teenager by the name of Clarisse McClellan. She asks him many questions, some deep, and some that take him by surprise. HE walks her home, and really thinks about his life... the meaning of it all. Was he trylly happy to do these things? The author may be telling us to question our motives daily. DO we really do things for ourselves or others?
The Sieve and the Sand: Part 1
Several days that go by since he met Clarisse, and none of them are peaceful. First, his wife tried to commit suicide by swallowing too many sleeping pills, and later hears the news that Clarisse, the girl he was walking with, was run over by a fast-speeding car and died. He seems to see that his life is spiraling out of control, and feels like he can solve his problems by reading the books he rescued from the fires, and stashed in his air vents.

After talking with his fire-chief, and finding out the reason that books were banned because they offended everyone, and since their books started looking similar because of it, everyone decided to ban books altogether. With no support from his wife, he meets with an old English teacher named Professor Faber, who helps him try to read more, and understand what he is reading. Soon, they come up with a plan that could put them both at risk!

To overthrow the rules, both Faber and Guy start reproducing books and planting them in homes and distributing them to firefighters. While talking to Beatty about books, they receive a call, and see that the call is coming from Montag's house! His wife betrayed him! HE is forced to burn down his own house and is under arrest. But he escapes, and runs to hide for the sake of his life.

After escaping from his society, Guy follows a path that leads him to a group called The Book People, whom are rogues, that read books, and are determined to memorize parts of literature, and pass it on for generations to come. Montag is assigned to memorize the whole book of Ecclesiastes. Soon, enemies bomb the city they are staying. They leave to move on and find survivors and teach many about the wonders of books.
