- Meet Cameron who is a 13-year-old boy with a poorly heart. His heart got poorly after catching a viral infection. He’s been on a transplant list for a long time but has never been successful.
- Cameron is approached by a pioneering doctor who can offer Cameron the chance to finally get a healthy heart... but it would be made from a pig.
- His parents can’t agree on what is best to do and argue. A lot. Cameron confides in his best friend Marlon but word gets out and the newspapers hear of this. Cameron finds out that his mum is pregnant and this gives him a new focus to get a healthy heart- he begins to record video messages to his new brother or sister.
- The press hound Cameron and his family. Marlon’s family get money from the story that they have sold. Cameron’s family have to leave their house until the attention from the press dies down. In protest a woman throws red paint over Cameron.
- Cameron finally goes in for his operation to get his new heart. His body struggles to accept the new heart and Cameron faces some challenges whilst his medication is adjusted. Cameron has to decide whether to have another pig heart or not.
- Cameron can’t decide and begins to feel defeated. He questions whether he should give up or not. Cameron faces some bad news as his nan dies. Cameron’s final video message states that he chooses to have another transplant so that he can be around when Alex (the baby) is born.
