- Title (As the narrator speaks, her words, one by one, fade in on the screen.)
- You've all heard the stories, the legends, new and old, myth and folklore. But what isn't forgotten...
- Cut to Extra-Wide: Fog drifts over surface of Crystal Lake, moving swiftly from right to left, obscuring background. Lens flare from sun from upper left to lower right.
- Crossfade to Wide (Focus is Foreground for coming Med-Close Shot): Fog continues to drift over the otherwise tranquil lake.
- Med-Close: As the water suddenly begins violently churning, Jason Voorhees emerges from the depths.
- Cut to Med-Wide: Jason begins walking toward shore.
- Med-Wide (Slow pullback, focus at water level): As Jason further surfaces and approaches camera, Freddy Krueger's head, clutched in Jason's right hand, emerges from water.
- Cut to Med: Jason, slightly obscured by fog, approaches the camera as he stalks the shallows along the shoreline.
- Close: Freddy's slack, decapitated head looms mid-screen as Jason continues stalking near the shore. The head comes closer until it nearly fills the screen in a Big Close Up
- Cut to Long: Camera shows fog-shrouded lake as Jason, in profile, wades knee-deep into view from left. It tracks him for a moment before he stops right of mid-screen.
- Cut to Low-Med: Jason slowly looks down and to his left, straight into the camera.
- Cut to Med-Long: Jason looks toward shore and throws his machete off the right side of screen.
- Cut to Wide: Machete whooshes across screen from left to right, arcing downward as it goes.
