Learner engagement in their learning experiences - Year 3 - Maths

Hi I’m Mr. Green. I teach a Year 4 class. Please read about a Science lesson about planets which I have recently delivered. Then think about the questions posed to help me improve my practice.
TI started off the lesson by correcting the homework about weather which I had given during the previous lesson. Then I introduced the new topic by showing a presentation about the Solar System. I explained the properties of each planet. Then I gave the learners some time to copy the properties of each planet on their Science project book.
I continued the lesson by showing a video with a song about planets. After watching the song, Iearners played a game about ordering the planets on the IFP.
Next I distributed handouts and I explained what learners had to do for classwork. While going round the class, I started to notice that some learners were confusing the order of the planets. Others did not fully understand the properties of each planet discussed during the lesson.
Since there wasn’t enough time, I decided to do the classwork as a whole class. We discussed each task and then learners copied the answers from the board.
I ended the lesson by explaining briefly what the learners had to do for homework.
