What kind of energy are you thinking about?
Tidal energy! It produces electricity from the rise and fall of tides by pushing a turbine. There are 3 types of tidal energy...
tidal streams, tidal barrages, and tidal lagoons!
Well, tidal energy is being used in many countries. One of them being the UK. It started around 2015, and they are using 50% the capacity that is possible for tidal energy.
How do we know that it will work for us, here on this island?
Pros: Renewable, from continuous change of waves. Doesn't emit green house gases. Predictable tide cycles
Pros...It produces high power and electricity. It's not expansive to maintain, after initial costs.
How about the cons.....
Cons: Limited installation sites, expensive to construct, can be harmful for marine life and fish, not constant tides to produce power.
WOW! Looks like the pros out weigh the cons!
I think we've got some thinking to do...
