The Latin Revolution By: Santiago Lujan1808-1826
As a result of the Peninsular War, Napoleon Bonaparte of france invaded Spain, and put his brother,Joseph Bonaparte in charge of spain. This places an important part in the Latin Revolution.
Remember that Spain ruled over all latin American countries except Brazil. Under a Monarchy government
Another important fact about the Latin America is that there were social classes. The two most relevant ones are the Creoles, people born in the Americas, and the peninsulares, people born in Europe but live in the americas
Creoles
Note: The peninsulares are higher ranking in the social class and the Creoles dont like them
Peninsulares
A huge factor in the Latin Revolution was that the king was not in favor of the Penisulares. French ideals were against the ideals of the peninsulares. So naturaly the creoles sided withe the French Spanish king
Mexico 1808
Many peasant uprisings occured during this time to remove the powerful Peninsulares, but all uprisings either died out or failed
Look at them they are so happy!
Real indipendence for Mexico didnt come till 1820. There is an actual Spanish King on the throne. The Mexican people faught the loyalist until they gained their independence with a new constitution
