  • Life's WorkIn 1620, Governor Frontenac sent Perrot as interpreter that claimed the upper Mississippi area that Autumn. He married Madeleine Raclot and stayed in Quebec. For 12 years, he worked on his ladn and got a fur trading license in 1674. Nicolas and Madeleine had 11 children by 1681.

  • Later Years1683- Governor Lefebvre told him to go to the Great Lakes area and develop trading expeditions. 1684- The Governor directed him to gain support of Western trading expeditions. 1685- Perrot is commander of the Green Bay region. He traveled to the joining of the W.I and Mississippi rivers, and built Fort Saint Nicolas. 1686- Built Fort Saint Antoine and started trading with siox. He took over British fur trading. 1696- All fur trade licences got taken away.

  • ContributionsPerrot was known as an explorer and Fur Trader. He worked in western tribes until 1696. He then returned to Canada and wrote about his life. He died on August 13, 1717, age 74. He was buried in his church in Quebec, his home town.
