- Police Department: Cyber Unit
- HackMeThePink0409: Just give me a sword and shield or I will come to your house and hurt you. I know where you live.Teen (Now fearing for their life): You don't know anything about me liar. I will not give you any legendary items, seeing as I don't have any.HackMeThePink0409: Yeah you do "kid". Don't tell me that lie.

- Teen: *determines that this threat is possibly true* I need to tell my parents. If this person does know where I live, they might mean they will hurt me.
- Tracking and Final Steps
- Teen (to Parents): I just got a threat from another player. He/she/they claims to know where I live. The threat was saying that the other player would hurt me if I didn't give him/her/them any legendary items. Should we report it?Parents: (Now Alert to the Situation) Oh.....That does need to be reported. (Father grabs cellphone and dials 911)

- 911: 911, Police, Fire, or EMS?Father: Police please. The Cyber Threat Unit.911: Okay sir. What is the situation?Father: My child has just received a life endangering threat from another person on a video game and my child is fearing for his/her/their life. (To Child): What was the username?Teen (Child): HackMeThePink0409.
- 911: Okay sir, thank you. I will notify the Cyber Unit as soon as possible. We will have 2 officers from the unit dispatched to interview your child and view the threat. Give your child these instructions: Take a screen shot of the chat and threat, save it to the photo album, write the threatening user's name down and have it ready for the officers, and write down the game's developer, publisher, and platform. This information is helpful in tracking down this threatening player.

- If you are threatened in video games, no matter the type of threat, do not hesitate or wait for the situation to dissolve. Tell your parents/legal guardian as soon as it happens, take the username down on paper, the game, developing studio, and publishing studio to give the information to law enforcement. Call 911 and ask for a cyber unit, if your city/town has one. Or, if you can, call the FBI Cyber Unit. If asked to press charges, do so. Threats are no joke. Do the right thing. This is a Cyber Threat and Cyber Bullying Public Service Announcement designed and written by Valin A. Powers
- I have had a similar event like this but it was not a life threat. It was a verbal harassment and threat against all Autistic children, teens, and adults. The perpetrator was found and charged with Harassment, verbal assault, and other charges. I reported the user/player before things went overboard.
